Theory of electricity EY5106

Course Objectives

  • Know definitions and conceptions related to fourier series.
  • Ability to expand fourier series functions.
  • Knowledge of definitions and conceptions related to multivariable systems.
  • Ability to apply multivariable function theory to, among others, probability calculations.

Course Description

  • 2 credits mathematics: fourier series: periodic functions, fourier sine and cosine series. Half-period expansions, multivariable functions, partial derivatives, differentials and differences, probability calculations.
  • 3 credits mathematics: series and parallel AC circuits, network analysis, resonant circuits, passive filters.

Learning Methods

Lectures, exercises, laboratory work, and circuitry simulations. The computer tool Maple is used for problem solving.

Assessment Methods

Under way exams and tests (40 %), final exam (60 %).

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
