Course Objectives

The purpose of the course is to provide students with up-to-date knowledge of administration, marketing, and financing in relation to the operation of galleries and other types of institutions that incorporate exhibition activities. The course will also focus on the national project Den kulturelle Skolesekken, as well as, galleries and art associations’ special relationship to children and schools.

Course Description

The course will primarily focus on the art policy framework, which directs the work of art associations. In addition, the course will also focus on marketing, financing and administration. A separate course module will also examine cultural sponsorship. One of the study sessions will be devoted to the relation between art, children and schools.

Learning Methods

The course consists of two work-shops, which will combine lectures, study trips and seminars. The participants will primarily provide guided tours for children.

Assessment Methods

Students will be required to submit two required take-home assignments, which will be graded according to the Pass/Fail grading system. Students must achieve passing grades on both assignments in order to earn a passing grade for the course.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
