942 Energy and Environmental Technology, master

Target Group and Admission Requirements

Bachelor in chemical or mechanical engineering. Final exam in Mathematics III at TUC or equivalent are also required.

Aim of the Programme

The program focuses upon environmentally-friendly energy production from both renewable and non-renewable energy sources, and upon prevention of pollution of air and water. Specialization is given in the field combustion and energy, and in physical and biological cleaning processes.

The successful candidate can find employment with companies working with safety and environmental risk analysis, design and operation of pollution abatement facilities or water treatment plants, energy production, management, and distribution, and with research institutes.

The program qualifies for admission to doctoral studies in technology at Norwegian and foreign universities.

Study Programme for Energy and Environmental Technology

Teaching and Learning Methods

Central teaching methods are lectures and tutorials, group work or projects and laboratory work. Experimental equipment, advanced mathematical models and powerful computers are used.

To complete the program, the candidate writes an individual thesis of 30 credits on a topic from research, or on a relevant topic presented by one of our industrial collaborators.

The program has international students and the teaching medium is English.

The Master's Thesis can be carried out abroad.
