Organisation Theory and Management II 1044
Course Objectives
Students will acquire a basic understanding of organisation and management, enabling them to understand the challenges associated with administration and management of sports and outdoor activities.
Course Description
Students will receive an introduction to general organisation-related information. The course will examine organisations and their relationship with their environment, effort-factors and results. There will also be a focus on management theories, management qualities, communication and interaction. Various themes related to the individual, organisation and society will be discussed such as the conditions for voluntary work, democracy in sport, and sport’s role in a democracy. Policy, strategy and method in today’s sport organisations and institutions will also be emphasised.
Learning Methods
Teaching and supervision.
Communication of information related to cases, processes and cases in relation to voluntary, public and private organisations and institutions.
Assessment Methods
A 5-hour individual written examination which counts for 1/3 of the final grade. A 5-day home examination which counts for 2/3 of the final grade. Graded marks.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
