Course Objectives

Students will acquire knowledge of methods and techniques for generating, structuring, basic analysis and presentation of digital geographical data.

Course Description

Reference systems, transformations, geometry models, software and equipment, data collection methods, data exchange, basic analysis, presentation and quality control.

Learning Methods

6-8 hours lectures/exercises per week during the autumn semester.

Assessment Methods

Mandatory assignments must be submitted and receive passing marks before students will be allowed to take the final examination. Oral examination in the skills / methodology in relation to one or more of the mandatory assignments. The oral examination will count 30%, and the 4-hour final examination counts 70%. Both examinations must receive passing marks in order to receive a final course grade.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
