Introduction to Spanish 2300
Course Description
The course is an elementary language course that will provide a fundamental knowledge of Spanish. It offers 15 ECTS, but cannot be counted as a specialist requirement towards a Bachelor degree. The course is designed for students who possess no previous knowledge of Spanish from secondary school, and can be taken as a basic course in Spanish.
Assessment Methods
The examination is divided into 2 parts:
1) A 4-hour written examination which counts for 50% of the final grade.
2) An oral examination of 15 minutes duration, which counts for 50% of the final grade.
The examination consists of: firstly, a discussion in Spanish of a topic which has been covered in the course, secondly, reading aloud Spanish text followed by a discussion of the texts.
Students must receive passing marks in both examinations in order to achieve a final passing grade for the course.
Grades: From A to F, where E is the lowest passing grade.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
