Chemistry and the Environment with Laboratory Course KJ1006
Course Description
Chemistry 7 credits: The structure of atoms and the periodic table, chemical binding, chemical equations and calculations, chemical names, solutions, chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, oxidation and reduction, electro-chemistry and organic chemistry.
Environment 3 credits: General ecology, air-pollution/purification of emissions to the atmosphere, water pollution/purification and discharges to water, refuse and its treatment, energy and the environment, working environments.
Laboratory course 5 credits: Quantitative analysis, physical/organic measurements, organic synthesis.
Assessment Methods
Environment: 30 % written exam
Chemistry: 70 % final written exam.
In order to pass the course, the student must pass both examinations.
Accomplished laboratory course and approved laboratory journals in may.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
