Introduction
(The study programme used to be called: Norwegian as a Second Language)
- In today’s schools pupils who belong to linguistic minorities constitute a significant part of the school population.
- Consequently, teachers need to possess knowledge about how to plan the teaching of this group of pupils.
The study programme Norwegian for Linguistic Minorities will provide knowledge about:
- Norwegian instruction best adapted to the different backgrounds of this group of pupils.
- How teachers can approach the teaching of Norwegian in the context of bilingual education and first language instruction.
The study programme will start: 14 September 2009 (week 38)

Organisation:
- Two 2-day workshop sessions in the morning/afternoon/weekday:
- Week 38 - 2009 (Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th September)
- Week 3 - 2010 (Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st January)
- The applicants may be consulted regarding the times of the workshop sessions according to preferences. (Day 1 and 2 9:30am -3:30pm. or Day 1 11:00am. –5 pm. And day 2 8:30am. -2:30pm.)
- Refer to the curriculum for obligatory coursework requirements.
- Final assessment: week 11 - 2010 (March)
