Music 1

Introduction

Music 1 is an obligatory part of the Bachelor’s degree programme, Subject Teacher: Practical & Arts Subjects, and may also be used as an elective subject in the General Teacher Education programme. The course aims at improving the students’ skills and confidence in using music professionally. Emphasis will be given to leading and preparing practical musical activities, and reflection upon musical pedagogical issues. The programme includes, amongst other things, learning instruments, singing, planning and implementation of school/nursery concerts and music projects in various contexts.

Target Group and Admission Requirements

The target group are students who wish to use music in educational contexts.

There are no special requirements for admission to the study programme, but practical musical experience in various genres (choirs, corps, bands etc.) will be an advantage.

Theory and Practical Training

The programme includes practical training which will provide students with the opportunity to experiment with elements of the study programme which they have worked on during the course of their studies.


Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
