Learning outcome
After completing the course the student should have the following learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills and competences:
- The current entrepreneurial situations for business people, men and women
- The woman’s perspective of entrepreneurship and leadership
- Aspects of networking, innovative business culture, ethics and gender research in an international context
Course Description
- The main concepts and alternative strategies of business entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity as a social process
- Leadership strategies and achievements
- Gender patterns in the workplace
- Educational and political policy regarding women in leadership positions
- Women and entrepreneurship
- Network communication and mentoring
- Business culture in Norway and in other countries
Teaching and Learning Methods
2-3 hrs/week, 15 weeks pr semester.
Lectures, case histories and studies, discussions, group or individual presentations, project-paper, educational field trips. An emphasis will be placed on student participation. The language of instruction is English. 80% participation is expected. Papers may be written in Norwegian, by special application.
Assessment Methods
Portfolio assessment, which will consist of oral presentations and 1-2 reports/projects/papers based on field study. Letter grades from A-F, last passing grade is E. All assessed elements of the course must be passed to pass the course.
