Course Description

The course emphasizes the interaction between maker, ceramic products and environmental factors. It is the contemporary context which the ceramic products are placed in that establishes a focus and basis for creative processes in clay, which the student will relate to. It is important that the student develops an understanding of the connections between the environment and natural conditions, and the cultural and technical development of a society.

Teaching and Learning Methods

Teaching will involve the school’s indoor and outdoor workshops and public spaces. The course includes an introduction, seminars and tutorials. Students are expected to put in considerable effort in the workshops.

Assessment Methods

Students must submit a portfolio before the stipulated deadline; it should include products, presentations of products, process description and reflection on practical training. A grade will be given from A to F, where E is the lowest passing grade.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
