Learning outcome
After completing the course the candidate:
- Can complete a project plan for a study that is relevant to clinical practice
- Can critically evaluate relevant literature as background material for selected topics
- Can formulate preliminary questions on the basis of a review of the literature
- Can give an account of the theoretical framework and perspective for a study
- Is able to explain the methodological design and approach for a study
- Can apply ethical principles
- Has knowledge of the scientific writing process
Course Description
- Preparation of project plan
- Systematic search and review of relevant literature
- Choosing a theoretical perspective
- Designing a relevant question
- Choosing a research design and methodology
- Research ethics
- Designing an in-depth study
Teaching and Learning Methods
The course will include seminars and group work and students’ own activities.
Assessment Methods
In order to sit the examination students must fulfil the following requirements:
987-E4 ST1 Project plan
Approved project plan, completed mandatory supervision; presented at a seminar.
Examination
987-E4ST2 Specialisation Assignment
Individual written specialisation assignment completed during the last semester. Assessed with grade. See criteria posted on Fronter.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
