Course Description

The course examines various aspects of English usage. The written component will focus on sentence style, vocabulary, sentence structure, and the most common grammatical mistakes. The spoken component of the course will cover problematic aspects of the student’s pronunciation in addition to presentation skills.

Teaching and Learning Methods

The course is taught every other autumn semester. There are two weekend gatherings of two days (together with the course English Grammar 2012N), short online lectures, and online task conversations. Course materials are mainly in the form of PowerPoint presentations and exercises with solution proposals. All materials will be regularly uploaded to Fronter.

Assessment Methods

The final written examination will be assessed on a scale from A to F, where E is the lowest pass mark, and F is a fail.

It is a prerequisite for the completion of the course that the students hand one oral and one written assignment. These will not be graded and do not count towards the overall grade, but must be approved by the course instructor.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
