Prepare the necessary basis, program and put into operation a control system

General competence

The candidate can/is:

  • Collaborate with other students to carry out a project
  • Describe work that has been completed through a report and oral presentation.
  • Aware of the importance of safety in solution-oriented work

Course Description

The course focuses on control systems based on PLCs and microcontrollers. There will be a project where the students will construct a SCADA system consisting of a PLC, a microcontroller, a graphical user interface (GUI), Industrial Ethernet and fieldbus communication modules.

Teaching and Learning Methods

The learning outcomes will be ensured through a combination of lectures, seminars, business visits and project work.

Assessment Methods

  • Project report 40%
  • Individual written exam 60 %

Work requirement: Participation in the project and individual oral presentation of the project.

Individual grade (A – F). All parts must be passed in order to receive a passing grade for the course.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
