Course Objectives

The course is an introduction to elementary linear algebra, which is the study of vectors and systems of linear equations. The course is useful to students for example in economics, the natural sciences or information technology.

Course Description

The course focuses on systems of linear equations, matrices and determinants, vector calculations, plane and spatial geometry. The course includes extensive use of practical examples and problem solving.

Learning Methods

3-4 hours of instruction per week in the spring semester. The course is not taught every year.

Assessment Methods

Mid-term assessment in the form of obligatory assignments which must be approved before students will be permitted to sit the individual written 4-hour final examination.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
