Course Objectives

The course will provide the student with the experience of producing a paper which satisfies the linguistic, formal and methodical requirements to academic work. The level requirement should therefore point forward to, but should not be equivalent with, a paper on MA level.

Course Description

The course consists of an individual, written project paper normally connected with one of the courses that the student has taken, or, on the basis of an individual application, another topic that is relevant to the study programme. The topic of the paper, which is to be written in English and which should be within the areas of literature, civilisation or language, is to be arrived at in a collaboration between the student and the tutor. The extent of the project paper should be between 7,000 and 10,000 words.

Assessment Methods

The project paper, which counts 60 percent, is to be submitted as an exam paper. A concluding oral exam counts 40 percent.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
