Geographical Analysis 5702

Course Objectives

The course will provide insight into the different analysis methods used in GIS, and they will learn how to use this in different situations. The course will consider theory in relation to practical problems, and provide students with practice in the use of programme software in the relevant topics.

Course Description

The course provides training in a wide range of geographic analysis methods and practical application of these.

Learning Methods

6-8 hours of lectures/exercises per week in the spring semester.

Assessment Methods

Compulsory assignments must be submitted and receive passing marks before students will be allowed to take the final examination. Final, written examination, 4 hours.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean

    The course is aimed at students with 2 years of higher education. It is assumed that students possess basic knowledge and skills in the use of computers, and it will also be an advantage if students have basic knowledge of mathematics and statistics at university level. Students must have completed the course 5700 Digital Geodata or equivalent.
