Course Objectives

Knowlegde to the basic functions of a computer network. Configuration and administration of a computer network.The usage of computer network and computer network devices and components in the industry.

Course Description

 Computer network administration and configuration, industrial communication, fieldbus, the usage of OPC as a communication protocol, real-time principles, programming, and operatingsystems. A short introduction to embedded systems. A short introduction to the programming standard IEC61131.

Learning Methods

 Lectures, labratory tasks, and assignments.

Assessment Methods

 A midsemester test counts for 30% of the final grade and a final test counts for 70% for the final grade. Both the midsemester test and the final test must be passed to get a grade better than F.
