Course Objectives

The aim of the course is to provide students with the basic knowledge of the development, construction and programming of microprocessor-based systems.

Course Description

Introduction to microprocessor based systems. Topics regarding the construction of microcontrollers and development of electronics and software. Architecture and Bus systems. Memory, I/O, interface and system circuits, interrupt and DMA. Assembly and high-level programming. Development tools and instruments for microprocessors.

PLS and PLD programming.

Lectures and assignments.

Assessment Methods

1 mid-term written examination (counts for 30%) and a final written examination (counts for 70%).

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
