Business English for Erasmus Students Fall 6025

Course Objectives

The course will provide the opportunity for students to increase their oral and written competence in English for special purposes appropriate to international requirements. The specific focus will be in the area of international marketing, travel and tourism, entrepreneurship and business administration in general. European level: B2

Course Description

The fall course will primarily focus on oral activities. Fall curriculum includes such topics as: perspectives on and barriers to communication; interviewing, preparing and giving presentations, developing a CV in English, managing meetings. Further, the students will gain insight into intercultural communication and aspects of culture in English-speaking countries.

Learning Methods

Lectures, group work, individual tasks, oral presentations, email communication, case-studies and discussions. The language of instruction is English.

Assessment Methods

Fall semester: 4-5 mandatory, graded written exercises: 50%. Oral examination: 50%. All elements of the assessment must be passed to pass the course. Letter grades from A-F, last passing grade is E.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
