Course Objectives
Provide students with knowledge and practice in leading an innovative project and moving it into a commercialisation phase.
Course Description
- Introduction to the topic entrepreneurship
- Entrepreneur, networks and society
- Project work with related courses (see 5014 Business Development)
- Work plan drafted according to guidelines described by Young Enterprise or other, approved plan
- Focus on especially critical challenges and decisions in relation to the actual project
Learning Methods
Students will work in groups. Each group will be allocated a main supervisor. As a starting point the students will carry out the project as a Young Enterprise (see www.ue.no). Other forms of organisations will be possible if conditions permit. The project may build on work previously completed on the courses 5013 Product Development and/or 5014 Business Development. The project may also involve cooperation with an external partner. Course requirements include a designated amount of work, and projects are expected to be innovative. Supervisors will approve the project idea and the work plan.
Assessment Methods
Group assessment based on the following:
Report on work completed in the autumn – submission: mid-December (counts 30%).
Final report – submission: mid-May (counts 60%).
Oral presentation for a panel: early-June (counts 10%).
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
