Course Objectives
Practical Skills: The application of styles in long document word processing, construction of spreadsheet models and simple presentation techniques.
Theoretical understanding of
- Historical conditions for today's technology,
- Impacts of technology on society,
- Hardware and networks,
- Legislation relevant for electronic information,
- Ethical and legal dilemmas associated with the use of electronic information,
- Data security issues and methodology.
- Technical and conceptual requirements for ecommerce.
Course Description
Development of PC skills, digital representation of data, principles for design of computer hardware and networks, internal and external networks, office systems, operating systems, ethics, data and information security, legislation, standards, IT in the workplace.
Learning Methods
- 6 hours of lectures / tutorials / supervision per week during the fall semester.
- Weekly non-compulsory tasks
- 3 mandatory written specialization tasks.
The course puts a great emphasis on the use of the college's e-learning system, and is suitable for students who wish to follow the course as distance students.
Assessment Methods
Final written examination, 5 hours. The required specialization tasks mentioned above are considered "approved" or "not approved". Specialized tasks must be approved to take the exam.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
