The Individual, Environs and Society - Winter 1244
Course Description
During the course the students will be introduced to the role skiing has played and still plays in the Norwegian society, and how the society manage the outdoor activities during wintertime. Historical and political facts in relation to Norwegian Friluftsliv will be discussed.
Experiental learning is an integral part of the course, and will give the students an opportunity to practice skiing as well as understand the value of physical activity in the outdoors.
Skis and boots will be provided. Excursions are mandatory.
Assessment Methods
One graded take home paper. Compulsory field trips.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
