Learning outcome
After completed the course, the student should have the following qualification regarding knowledge, skill and general competence:
- Be familiar with central topics in genetics
- Knowledge of basic principles of heredity and environmental impact
- Knowledge of how molecular genetic analysis can be applied in the field of ecology
- Be able to convey specific topics in writing
Course Description
Key themes:
The basic principles of hereditary characteristics
Coupling, recombination and genetic-mapping
Bacteria and viral systems
DNA replication and recombination, transcription and translation
Mutations
Recombinant DNA technology and genomics
Assessment Methods
Written 4-hour final examination will constitute 100% of the grade. Submitted practice exercises and an oral presentation must be approved prior to taking the final examination.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
