Learning outcome

Students will:

• gain a deeper knowledge of an certain aspect of the subject matter of particular interest to them,
• gain experience in technical report writing,
• be able to tailor their studies in the direction of a particular occupation or career interest within the field of environmental sciences.

Course Description

The assignment topic will be determined in consultation with the student's supervisor and will normally lie within the scope of the academic and research capacity of the university college staff.

Assessment Methods

At a predetermined date following report submission, each student will conduct a 15-minute oral presentation of their project assignment, followed by 5 minutes for questions. Presentations will be scheduled near the end of the semester in late May or late November. Oral presentations will be open for interested staff and students. The quality of presentations may affect the student's final letter grad for the course. A delay in the date of submission, or for the oral presentation, requires a doctor's confirmation.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
