Business English for Erasmus Students Fall 6025
Learning outcome
Students will gain insight into effective communication in an international environment and will increase their competence and knowledge of written and verbal communication. Further, they will be able to express opinions and discuss ethical issues with based on mandatory readings. They will become more familiar with social and cultural conditions in English-speaking countries. Students will be able to perform effective business presentations and develop business documents.
Course Description
The fall course will primarily focus on oral activities. Fall curriculum includes such topics as: perspectives on and barriers to communication; interviewing, preparing and giving presentations, developing a CV in English, managing meetings. Further, the students will gain insight into intercultural communication and aspects of culture in English-speaking countries.
Assessment Methods
Fall semester: 4-5 mandatory, graded written exercises: 50%. Oral examination: 50%. All elements of the assessment must be passed to pass the course. Letter grades from A-F, last passing grade is E.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
