Course Description

Measurement of specific locations using Global Positioning Systems (GPS), total station and levelling. Calculation and use of plan data, data exchange and area calculation.

Assessment Methods

Mandatory assignments must be submitted and receive passing marks before students will be allowed to take the final examination. Oral examination in the skills / methodology in relation to one or more of the mandatory assignments. The oral examination will count 30%, and the 4-hour final examination counts 70%. Both examinations must receive passing marks in order to receive a final course grade.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean

    The course is aimed at students with 2 years of higher education. It is assumed that students possess basic knowledge and skills in the use of computers, and it will also be an advantage if students have basic knowledge of mathematics and statistics at university level.
