Learning outcome

The course will provide students with knowledge of new product development processes, the importance of having a plan for the development of new products, and the significance of analyzing the needs of customers and the competitive situation before the development of new product solutions. The students will gain skills in retrieving information about customers and competitors, and how to use this information in the development of successful new products. They will also gain skills and general competences in creative work processes, innovation and development, and both organizing and working in projects.

  • New product development processes
  • Identification of customer needs and monitoring of market situations
  • Product planning and specifications
  • Concept generation and selection processes

Assessment Methods

Portfolio assessment, which will consist of a course group assignment with submissions at various stages and presentations, and an individual oral examination.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
