Learning outcome

Students will gain insight into effective communication in an international environment and will increase their competence and knowledge of written and verbal communication. Further, they will be able to express opinions and discuss ethical issues with based on mandatory readings. They will become more familiar with social and cultural conditions in English-speaking countries. Students will be able to develop professional business documents and will apply knowledge of international business communication skills through an e-mail project with students in Belgium.

Course Description

The spring course will primarily focus on written activities. Spring curriculum includes topics such as: Email for business purposes, business documents such as letters, press releases, reports, modern media communication, information capture, visual communication, corporate identity and organizational communication, promotions and exhibitions.

Assessment Methods

Spring: 4-5 mandatory, graded tasks: 20% Final written exam counts 80%. All elements of the assessment must be passed to pass the course. Letter grades from A-F, last passing grade is E.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
