Learning outcome
The students will acquire skills in applying the programming language Java and the Android SDK for developing applications for mobile devices on the Android platform.
Course Description
The Android platform, SDK and the development environment. Building user interfaces with Activity, Layouts, Views and Drawables. Android menus. Internet based applications using Intents, Receivers, Filters and Adapters. Files, state and preferences. Databases and content providers. Background applications using Services, Threads and Notifications. Applications using Android hardware devices.
Teaching and Learning Methods
4-5 hours of lectures, exercises and guidance per week.
Assessment Methods
A 4-hour digital, individual examination. A number of obligatory assignments submitted during the course must be approved before the student will be permitted to sit the final examination.
