Learning outcome
This is an advanced course in GIS. After finishing the course the student shall have this benefits in knowledge and ability:
Have an overview of several central methods for analysis in GIS
Knowledge of the theory connected to the topics under Content
Be operative on actual GIS software
Able to use theory and practical on a problem
Able to use GIS in combination with other diciplines
Course Description
The course will provide spatial analysis of vector GIS and raster. Actual topics are overlay operations, scales, network analysis, linear referencing,interpolation techniques, terrain modelling, hydrolgical modelling, spatial statistical methods including spatial autocorrelation, point pattern analysis, polygon-neighborhood analysis, decision support analysis and fuzzy modelling, and cartography.
Teaching and Learning Methods
There are 4 hour talk and 4 hour exercises pr. week over 11 weeks.
Assessment Methods
Compulsory assignments must be submitted and receive passing marks before students will be allowed to take the final examination. Final, written examination, 4 hours.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
