Learning outcome
Knowledge
The candidate can:
- Analyze how long-term illness, complex failing health, aging and rehabilitation affect people’s ability to cope and their capacity to fulfil their basic needs
- Integrate knowledge from the study programme’s courses in the planning, implementing, documentation, reporting and evaluation of the nursing of patients of all ages with a health risk or long-term and complex health failure
Skills
The candidate can:
- Identify worsening illness and implement appropriate measures
- Strengthen the patient’s and his/her family’s ability to cope with long-term illness
General competence
The candidate can:
- Analyze the relationships between people’s health, disease, living conditions, culture and society
- Defend his/her views on ethical, health, social and cultural issues in reporting and meetings with partners
- Take responsibility for supervising and delegating work to a group of colleagues/students in the municipality
- Impart knowledge of his/her own practice in interdisciplinary and inter-departmental collaboration
- Identify the need for change/professional development in nursing services in the municipality
- Communicate their own learning process and outcomes in relation to aims - guidance - and evaluation talks
Course Description
Clinical studies - 8 weeks - home nursing with a focus on the integration of knowledge, skills and attitudes related to:
- The patient
- The nurse
- Interaction
- Context
Teaching and Learning Methods
Clinical studies - 8 weeks of home nursing; demonstration - practice - case studies - guidance - reflection.
Assessment Methods
Clinical studies, 8 weeks in home nursing - assessed on a pass/fail basis.
All clinical courses must have received passing grades.
