  • Analyze the relationships between people’s mental health, illness, living conditions, culture and society

The candidate can:

  • Evaluate, apply and disseminate knowledge of clinical work
  • Integrate knowledge of the study programme courses when planning, implementing, documenting, reporting and evaluating of knowledge-based nursing care of patients with mental illness and suffering
  • Communicate with patients with mental illness and their families with sensitivity, respect and care

General competence

The candidate can:

  • Take the initiative and be active in collaborative relationships
  • Apply appropriate legislation
  • Critically assess his/her own nursing practice and continuously revise his/her own learning needs

Course Description

Clinical studies in mental health work - 8 weeks - with a focus on the integration of knowledge, skills and attitudes related to:

  • The patient
  • The nurse
  • Interaction
  • Context

Teaching and Learning Methods

Clinical studies - 8 weeks: demonstration - practice - guidance - reflection.

Assessment Methods

Clinical studies, 8 weeks mental health work - assessed on a pass/fail basis.

All clinical courses must have received passing grades.
