Learning outcome
After successfully completing the course, the candidate will have achieved the following learning outcomes:
The candidate:
- Is familiar with the main principles of legal methodology
- Has knowledge of the core rules of contract law, including the making and interpretation of contracts, void contracts, etc.
- Has knowledge of the key rules for the purchase and sale of movable property, including defects, delay and default
- Is familiar with the basic legal framework for monetary claims, including the payment date, place of payment, transfer of monetary claims, liability forms, offsetting, late payment interest, expiry, etc.
- Is familiar with the rules concerning creditors’ claims on spouses’ and cohabitants’ assets
- Has knowledge of basic administrative law, with an emphasis on procedural rules in the Norwegian Public Administration Act
Course Description
Sources of law, contract law, sale of goods law, laws concerning monetary claims, creditors’ claim on spouses’ assets and administrative law.
Teaching and Learning Methods
3 hours of lectures per week in the spring semester.
The course in Commercial Law constitutes the first part (7.5 ECTS) of the 5353 Law Accountancy Exam (15 ECTS). Students enrolled on the 3-year Bachelor's programme in Accountancy do not take an examination in 6006 Business Law (7.5 ECTS) after one semester; they complete the course 5353 after two semesters with an examination of 15 ECTS.
Assessment Methods
Written examination, 5 hours.
