Learning outcome

After successfully completing the course, the candidate will have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence.

The candidate:

- Can distinguish between different types of organisations

- Understands an organisation’s formal and informal structures

- Understands what creates organisational capacity

- Is able to assess internal and external factors that may influence behaviour in organisations

- Can analyse power, conflicts, communication and decision-making in organisations

- Can reflect on the role of the individual in organisations

Course Description

The course includes the following topics:

- Goal management and developing strategies

- Organisational structure

- Organisational culture

- Power and conflicts in organisations

- An organisation’s environment

- Motivation

- Social perception

- Communication

- Decision-making

Teaching and Learning Methods

3 hours of lectures per week during the autumn semester.

Assessment Methods

Written four-hour examination. Students are given the opportunity to answer two assignments during the course. Submitted assignments (submission is voluntary) will be commented on by the teacher.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
