Convective Heat and Mass Transfer D0708

Learning outcome

A candidate who has passed the course will have a learning outcome in the form of acquired knowledge, skills, and general competence, as described below.

Knowledge

The candidate is mastering advanced theory and scientific methods regarding convective heat and mass transfer as well as numerical simulation of heat and mass transfer.

Skills

The candidate can plan and conduct research and development independently on heat and mass transfer phenomena.

General competence

The candidate is able to communicate R&D results from studies where heat and mass transfer plays a key role in recognised international channels.

Course Description

  • Conservation equations for both elliptic and parabolic problems
  • Momentum and heat transfer for laminar and turbulent fluid flow
  • Mass transfer analysis
  • Forced and free convection
  • Selected multiphase topics
  • Numerical techniques for solving elliptic and parabolic conservation equations

Teaching and Learning Methods
