Learning outcome

Knowledge

The student will have acquired knowledge of:

  • The similarities and differences between the various activities, and the values offered by the mediation of sports in the school subject Physical Education.
  • Didactical topics related to the chosen activities.

Skills

The student will be able to:

  • Perform in the different activities.
  • Developing an ability to discuss sports and practical activities from a historical perspective, in relation to Norwegian cultural and educational traditions.
  • Demonstrate skills and the ability to provide guidance in the chosen activities.
  • Creating a plan to teach the same skills.
  • Use different learning arenas such as the natural environment and gymnasiums when working with sports-related and practical activities.

General competence

The student will be able to:

  • Develope variations in the games and training methods, based on insights gained though working with the various activities.
  • Create alternative sports-related and practical activities through experimentation and cooperation with others.

Course Description

The course will be divided into the following course units:

  • Snow-Boarding
  • Skating
  • Cross-Country Skiing
  • Telemark Skiing
  • Climbing
  • Floor-ball
  • Subject Didactics

Working with snowboarding, ice-skating, cross country skiing, telemark skiing, floorball, climbing and subject didactics will ensure variation between the development of personal skills, theoretical understanding, practice teaching and didactic reflection.

Assessment Methods

The course is assessed with a letter grade which is based on the following elements:

  • An individual assessment based on the student's participation in the individual activities. This assessment is based on the student's personal skills, effort, progress and understanding of the individual activities.
  • An individual coursework journal in which the various aspects of the course will be discussed and assessed.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
