Course Description
Analogue DC circuits:
This course provides an introduction to calculating current and voltage in parallel and series circuits with resistance, capacitance and inductance. The main topics are Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws, advanced analytical methods and network theorems. In addition, an introduction will be given to calculation for magnetic circuits.
Digital circuits:
Numerical systems including conversion rules. Boolean algebra. The basic circuitry for digital systems with truth tables. Combinatorics. Limiters. Digital arithmetic - operations and circuits. Interface - A / D and D / A conversion.
The course also includes a laboratory component in which students will work with connecting selected analogue and digital circuits and carry out current and voltage measurements.
Teaching and Learning Methods
Lectures, exercises and laboratory exercises.
Assessment Methods
All exercises are mandatory: 80% of the exercises must be submitted and approved before students will be permitted to take the final examination.
Laboratory exercises incl. laboratory journal must be passed in order to take final exam
Written individual final examination (100% of grade).
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
