Course Objectives

  • Gain knowledge of: Fourier series - definitions and concepts.
  • Be able to develop functions in Fourier series.
  • Gain knowledge of definitions and concepts relating to functions of several variables.
  • Be able to use the theory concerning functions of several variables for error calculations.

Course Description

  • 2 ECTS mathematics: Fourier series: Periodic functions. Fourier sinus series and Fourier cosine series. Half-periodic lengths. Functions of several variables: Functions with two or more variables. Partial derivative functions. Differentials and final differences. Error calculations.
  • 3 ECTS: Serial and parallel connected alternating current circuits. Network analyses. Resonance circuits. Passive filters.

Learning Methods

Lectures, laboratory work in groups, simulation of circuitry, written exercises. The software programme Maple is used in mathematics.

Assessment Methods

40% continuous assessment, 60% final written examination.
