Course Objectives
The student will gain an understanding of how to communicate effectively with persons from other cultures.
Course Description
Topics are:
Intercultural communication.
Understanding of other culture’s value systems, religions, political systems, attitudes, social structures, lifestyle, behavior patterns, communication style and aspects of business culture.
Learning Methods
3-5 hrs/week, 16 weeks pr semester, fall semester.
Lectures, discussions, oral presentations. The language of instruction is Norwegian; syllabus is available in English.
Assessment Methods
Project paper 30%; oral presentation 40%; final written essay examination 30%. All assessed elements of the course must be passed to pass the course.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
