Electric Circuits and Dynamic Systems # SCE1406

Course Objectives

Learn basic systems theory of dynamic systems and electrical systems.

Course Description

Systems theory for dynamic systems. Basic theory of electric circuits. Electronic amplifiers. Basic mathematical modeling of physical processes. State-space models. Transfer function models. Block diagram representations of mathematical models. Time responses. Frequency responses. Poles and zeros. Stability. Simulations (using pre-made simulators). (The students will learn computer tools such as Matlab, Simulink, and LabVIEW tools in other courses in the ordinary study.)

Learning Methods

Web based teaching. Theoretical exercises. Computer exercises. Laboratory work to be accomplished at Telemark University College (during the normal Fall term).

Assessment Methods

The final test counts 75% and the laboratory assignment counts 25% in the final grade. Both parts must be passed to get a passing grade for the course.
