Introduction
The study programme is aimed at employees in the health and social sector, pre-school and schools, and others in the public and private sectors. It is aimed at students who seek both a practical and a theoretical understanding of what supervision involves.
Target Group and Admission Requirements
The target group is professionals who wish to develop their competence in the field of supervision. The study program may be suitable for teaching practice mentors associated with the university college, and supervisors for newly graduated professionals. Students associated with development and innovation activities are also a relevant target group. Admission requirements: 3 years of education at university or university college level. One year of relevant work experience is also required (however, the university college may waive the 1-year work-experience requirement in special cases).
Aim of the Programme
Students will acquire knowledge and develop understanding of educational, vocational and individual standards for supervisory processes. Through theoretical and practical exercises, students will develop supervisory skills and develop understanding of different traditions within supervision, and plan, implement and evaluate their own supervisory activities. Students will be able to reflect on their own supervisory skills, and assess them, among other things, in the context of supervision theory, and develop their ability to critically analyse their own and fellow students’ supervisory skills.
