Systems and Control Laboratory SCE4206
Course Objectives
To get practical experience in modeling, simulation and control of physical, industry-like processes
Course Description
Practical projects about modeling, simulation and control of physical processes using PC with LabVIEW. The projects focuses on topics as e.g. system identification of transfer function models from logged process data, design of state estimators (soft sensors) using observer or Kalman-filter, and model-based control, as MPC (Model-based Predictive Control).
Learning Methods
Laboratory work, simulations, report writing, and oral presentations
Assessment Methods
Projects with reports and oral presentations counts totally 50%. A final, individual written test about topics of the project work counts 50% of the final grade. It is necessary to pass both the projects and the final test in order to get a passing grade.
