Course Description

The assignment topic will be determined in consultation with the student's supervisor and will normally lie within the scope of the academic and research capacity of the university college staff.

Learning Methods

Students wishing to take this course must submit an application one week before the deadline for semester registration. The application form may be obtained either online (Fronter) or at the institute consultant's office. Each student will be given a project assignment supervisor. If the number of applicants exceeds staff capacity, those students with highest number of ECTS and best grades will be given first priority.

Students will work alone, and the course entails the same amount of work as a normal lecture course with a syllabus of approximately 300-350 pages. the report may be based on a study of published sources, field data collected by the student, or previously unpublished data collected by staff members or others. The report should encompass approximately 25 pages from the introduction through the literature-cited list using 1.5 line-spacing and font size 12. Two paper copies of the report ust be delivered to the exam office within the submission deadline.

Assessment Methods

At a predetermined date following report submission, each student will conduct a 15-minute oral presentation of their project assignment, followed by 5 minutes for questions. Presentations will be scheduled near the end of the semester in late May or late November. Oral presentations will be open for interested staff and students. The quality of presentations may affect the student's final letter grad for the course. A delay in the date of submission, or for the oral presentation, requires a doctor's confirmation.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
