Cultural Administration and Management 3322

Course Objectives

The purpose of the course is to provide students with an introduction to cultural management and cultural administration. Students will:
- Gain basic knowledge of management.
- Acquire an insight into the various targets, frameworks and tasks in the cultural field.
- Acquire knowledge about basic financial and organisational aspects of management responsibilities in the cultural field.
- Acquire a basic introduction to marketing, media and public affairs.
- Master ICT as a tool in writing assignments.

Course Description

The course focuses mainly on the cultural field and management. It is based on the organisational development of the cultural field, with emphasis on the role of management. The course will provide students with an introduction to basic organisational, financial, communicative and ethical issues in management and administration in the cultural field.

Learning Methods

Lectures, seminars, online guidance, exercises.

Assessment Methods

Written assignment in the autumn semester, which counts 40%, 5-hour final individual examination which counts 60%. Both must receive passing marks in order to obtain a passing grade for the course.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
