Course Objectives
Students who complete this course will be able to:
• read and understand literary texts, factual prose and academic texts
• understand lectures given in Norwegian and be able to take lecture notes
• be able to write various types of texts which communicate effectively
Course Description
Students will work on various texts and complete written assignments and exercises.
Central grammatical topics will be examined. Students will work on building their vocabulary.
Learning Methods
Teaching will alternate between lectures, group work, reading of texts, dictation, reports, grammar exercises and various written exercises.
Submission of written work at regular intervals throughout the year.
Written tests will be given at regular intervals.
Assessment Methods
Written examination, 4 hours, which counts for 25% of the final grade.
The assessment will use a grading scale from A to F, where A is the highest grade and E the lowest passing grade.
A single grade will be given for successfully completing the programme.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
