Course Objectives

Students will acquire knowledge of the methods, equipment and computer programmes for basic surveying.

Course Description

Measurement of specific locations using Global Positioning Systems (GPS), total station and levelling. Calculation and use of plan data, data exchange and area calculation.

Learning Methods

3-4 hours lectures and lab practice per week during the autumn semester.

Assessment Methods

Mandatory assignments must be submitted and receive passing marks before students will be allowed to take the final examination. Oral examination in the skills / methodology in relation to one or more of the mandatory assignments. The oral examination will count 30%, and the 4-hour final examination counts 70%. Both examinations must receive passing marks in order to receive a final course grade.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
