Social Pedagogical Work and the Use of Activities 070-E4
Course Objectives
After completing course 4 students will:
Knowledge
• have knowledge of preventative child welfare work
• have knowledge of social pedagogical work – theory and methods
• have knowledge concerning conducting dialogues with children in care situations
• develop communication and relational skills
Skills
• show skills in the use of professionally anchored cultural and activity measures with children and young people
• demonstrate skills in dialogues with children and young people
• be able to plan, evaluate and implement measures from a user perspective
Course Description
The content of the course is based on the national curriculum’s requirements regarding the distribution of credits, which functions as a guideline for the clarification of the course plan.
General, and social psychology - 1 ECTS credit; clinical psychology and mental health - 1 ECTS credit; social pedagogy - 2 ECTS credits; communication, interaction and conflict resolution - 1 ECTS credit; community work - 3 ECTS credits; activities subject - 2 ECTS credits.
Learning Methods
Group work, skills training, field work, presentations and lectures. Field work and skills training will be linked to activities and communication with children and young people and training in methodical social pedagogical work through, amongst other things, activity programmes with children and young people.
Assessment Methods
Course code: 070-E4: Social pedagogical work and the use of activities – assessment assignment
An individual assignment with group work, which will be based on the use of activities in working with children and young people (3000 words). Graded marks.
There are as many as two course requirements, which must be approved before the course can be approved. The course requirements are described in the course plan.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
