410 Trainer Programme, fordypning

Target Group and Admission Requirements

Applicants must have successfully completed a one-year programme in Sport Studies or Physical Education. This study programme will provide them with specialisation in the role of the trainer.

Aim of the Programme

The study programme will qualify students to work as trainers in various contexts, and provide them with a high level of professional expertise. Sport and physical activities today are characterised by quite dramatic and diverse changes. New activities have emerged, while old ones have disappeared. Consequently, the role of the trainer has changed and adapted to new requirements. The study programme aims to train trainers who are prepared and trained for these changes. It will encourage the student to analysis and reflect upon a chosen sport from a practical, educational, physiological, and sociological perspective.

Further Education opportunities

The study programme builds on the one-year programme, Sport Studies, or equivalent, and may form part of a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science.

Students will present the subject material in groups orally or in written form; for example, themes which have been presented in lectures or topics from the syllabus, or topics from the study programme which the students have found particularly interesting.

Assessment Methods

The assessment of the study programme is related to the following elements: written work, active participation, the practical methodical examination and approved period of practical training.
