Road Planning BY5106
Course Description
The course will provide basic skills in road planning according to the Road Standards based on Regulations according to the Road Law § 13 for Works and Roads. The students will be given an introduction to the use of the programme package Novapoint Road Professional, which they will use to plan a road parcel, write a project report and create a folder of technical drawings.
Assessment Methods
An individual grade will be given, based on the following list:
1. The project process (20 %, individual grade)
- Participation, contribution to progress in the process, initiative, meeting leadership, secretarial functions, contact with supervisors and external contacts.
2. Project report (40 %, group grade)
- Goal fulfilment, professional level and breadth, theoretical foundation, report-organisation, language/readability/appearance/drawing quality.
3. Oral presentation of the project (20%, individual grade)
- Structure, length, speaking ability, aids, technical jargon, ability to communicate.
4. Examination when presenting the project (20% individual mark)
- Professional level and breadth, command of the subject and participation in the project.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
